Match Play Sporting (MPS) is a new competitive clays game designed to provide a highly cerebral and compelling sport based on strategy chosen by the shooter to maximize his score in a field of handicapped competitors. The shooter advances through a series of elimination rounds to a final shoot off known as the Super Match. The game can be adapted to accommodate a wide number of participants, and promotes enthusiasm by leveling scoring potential and encouraging individual ingenuity, as well as offering greater prize money than what has typically been given in other venues. In short, one must shoot well but play smart. The strategic implications to the sport are far-reaching; decisions made at individual stations can have profound consequences. At no point is a shooter completely out of the running. This creates an unpredictability and drama that will make the sport more captivating for shooters and spectators alike.
